What players usually want to fix
Striking the ball
Where your plant foot lands, whether your body is over the ball, and which part of the foot makes contact all change where a shot or pass goes. Ask Observe why your shots are flying high or wide.
First touch
A heavy first touch often comes from a stiff receiving foot or meeting the ball side-on. Seeing your touch back makes it easier to spot.
Balance when dribbling
Staying low, with your weight over the ball, helps you change direction quickly. Observe can point out when you are leaning back or upright.
Shooting technique
Locking the ankle, following through towards the target and keeping your head steady all matter. Re-observe after practice to see the difference.
How Observe helps
Video it
Record a short clip of yourself on your phone. Ten to fifteen seconds is enough.
Get feedback
Observe's AI gives you clear, specific feedback. Ask a question about your Observation and get a visual fix to work on.
See yourself improve
Re-observe over time to compare your clips and see how your technique is changing.
How to film it
- Film side-on for passing and shooting, about 5–8 metres away, so your plant foot and striking leg are both in shot.
- For dribbling and first touch, film from in front or behind so your body position is clear.
- Keep the phone steady, at roughly hip height, and keep the ball in the frame.
- Ten to fifteen seconds is enough. Two or three repetitions in one clip works well.
Questions
Can I analyse my soccer technique with just a phone?
Yes. A steady 10–15 second clip of a pass, shot, touch or dribble is usually enough for Observe to give useful feedback.
Does Observe work for kids playing soccer?
Yes, with an adult account. A parent, guardian or authorised coach can film a young player and submit the clip from their own account. People under 15 cannot hold their own account.
Does Observe replace a soccer coach?
No. Observe gives AI-generated guidance to support practice between sessions. It is not a substitute for a qualified coach.
