What lifters usually check
Squat depth and knee tracking
Hitting a consistent depth with knees tracking in line with the toes is one of the most common squat checks.
Back position
Holding a neutral spine through the deadlift and the squat is a basic safety and strength check.
Bar path
A bar that travels in a smooth, efficient line is often the sign of a well-controlled lift.
Tempo and control
Controlling the lowering phase, not just the lift, builds strength and helps you notice where your form breaks down.
How Observe helps
Video it
Record a short clip of yourself on your phone. Ten to fifteen seconds is enough.
Get feedback
Observe's AI gives you clear, specific feedback. Ask a question about your Observation and get a visual fix to work on.
See yourself improve
Re-observe over time to compare your clips and see how your technique is changing.
How to film your lift
- Film from the side at about hip height for squats and deadlifts, and from about 45 degrees for presses.
- Keep the whole body and the bar in frame for the full rep.
- Film a working set, not a warm-up, as that is where form tends to change.
- Ten to fifteen seconds is enough, so a few reps from one set works well.
