What shooters usually work on

Balance and base

A shot starts from the ground up. Feet about shoulder width, knees bent, and landing close to where you took off.

Elbow alignment

Keeping the shooting elbow under the ball and in line with the basket helps the shot travel on a straight line.

Release and follow-through

A consistent release point and a held follow-through with the wrist relaxed are the marks of a repeatable shot.

Arc and rhythm

A smooth, unhurried rhythm from catch to release is easier to see on video than to feel mid-game.

How Observe helps

Record a short clip of yourself on your phone. Ten to fifteen seconds is enough.

02

Get feedback

Observe's AI gives you clear, specific feedback. Ask a question about your Observation and get a visual fix to work on.

03

See yourself improve

Re-observe over time to compare your clips and see how your technique is changing.

How to film your shot

  • Film from the side to check balance, arc and follow-through, then from the front to check alignment.
  • Keep the ball and your whole body in frame, including the landing.
  • Shoot from a spot you use in games, like the free-throw line or the elbow.
  • Ten to fifteen seconds of a few shots is plenty.
